About Us

About Northwest Health and Wellness Camp

Northwest Health and Wellness camp is an effort to improve the overall health and wellness of the pacific northwest. It is a biannual health camp that offers comprehensive health care services to communities that lack access.


Held in April and November, it is organized by a team of committed volunteers, dedicated to improving public health and wellbeing. We provide comprehensive preventive care including mammograms, pap smears, colon cancer screening, dental and vision exams. We also offer free physician consults with specialties like Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, ophthalmology, dentistry, physical therapy, and nutrition.

Ophthalmology Team 

Dr. Sarbjit Virk, DO, PhD ,FIAOMC


Dr. Virk is a doctor or Optometry and has been in practice for over 36 years, in the Seattle area. 

In addition to specializing in contact lens fittings, Dr. Virk believes in preventive care and is proactive in treating dry eyes, red eyes, glaucoma, foreign bodies, and most disorders of the anterior part of the eye. His special interests are in pediatric care particularly myopia control and specialty contact lenses.

Dr. Virk is one of the few experts in Bellevue who uses Orthokeratology for myopia control or for vision improvement. 

Dr. Bhavjit Mangat, DO 


Dr. Mangat is a doctor of Optometry who has been in practice since 2011.She is dedicated to vision therapy and helping children strive not only in school but in their personal life too.


Dentistry Team 

Dr. Varinderjit Thind ,DDS


Dr. Thind has been practicing dentistry for over 15 years. She is passionate about equity in dental care and is committed to providing comprehensive dental care from prevention to advanced surgical care.  

Dr. Sonu Mathur, DDS


Dr. Mathur has been practicing dentistry in the Seattle area for over 15 years and specializes in crowns, bridges, implants, restorative and cosmetic dentistry. Her emphasis on compassionate care draws her to northwest health and wellness camp.


Pediatrics Team 

Dr. Neeta Tyagi Jain , MD,FAAP


Dr. Jain is a pediatrician with over 20 years of experience. She has practiced on the Eastside most of this time. Currently, she practices at Snoqualmie Valley Clinic. Her focus is not only the physical development and taking care of pediatric illness but also childhood behavior and mental development of kids and youth.

Internal Medicine Team 

Dr. Anita Chopra, MD, FACP


Dr. Chopra is an Internal medicine provider at UW Medicine. She is devoted to providing quality healthcare to adults, with a special focus on preventive health. Dr. Chopra is one of the organizers of the Northwest Health and Wellness camp.

Neysa Koury PA-C


Neysa M. Koury, PA-C is a certified physician assistant whose clinical interests include full-spectrum family medicine. We are fortunate to have her volunteer at our health camp where she has been consulting with adults and kids.


Physical Therapy Team 

Dr. Titonath Dith PhD


Dr. Dith has a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Binghamton University; a combined Bachelor’s of Health Sciences, a Master’s of Physical Therapy degree from Touro College, and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Temple University. He has been a Physical Therapist since 1998 and has worked in Sports Medicine, Outpatient Rehabilitation, and Home Health Care. He has received awards for being the “Face of Gentiva”, in providing care the Gentiva way and “Physical Therapist of the Year” for home care in Washington State.

Jessica Krepps, PTA


Jessica feels her practice of physical therapy is incomplete without community engagement.

Besides the health camps, she also participates in community outreach, teaching, and awareness events.


Nutrition Team 

Whitney Thomas, R.D., CDE


Whitney is a registered dietician and nutrition specialist at UW Medicine. She has consistently volunteered her time and services at our health camp. She has helped develop nutritional programs for the camp’s diverse communities, catering them to their individual diets. These programs, especially “ My healthy Plate “have been very well received.

Mehr Grewal


Mehr is a high school student, who has initiated several public health initiatives including “ Clean hands save lives “ and “ My Healthy Plate “. 

Mehr and Whitney counsel patients about healthy eating, individualize diet plans, and educate people about diet modifications.


Community Partners 

Overlake Hospital


 They are providing assistance with free labs for the community, flu shots, and distributing health kits.

Seattle Cancer Care Alliance


SCCA has partnered with us to provide free mammograms to women over 40 years of age. They kindly donate their mammogram vans with staff to provide onsite mammograms.

Women’s Health Outreach (WHO), Seattle


It provides free mammograms, pap smears, and colon cancer screenings.

Latino’s Promoting Good Health


Helps with blood work, providing glucose and cholesterol checks and flu shots. 

King County Public Health Access and Outreach


They are providing Medicare and Medicaid sign-ups for people and disseminating information about insurance benefits. 


Youth Aware


Youth Aware is a platform for youth to connect, exchange ideas, and voice their opinions about current events.
